Frequently Asked Questions

We are open 5 days a week Thursday-Monday 9 am to 5 pm. 

  For small groups no reservation is needed, however if your group is larger than 6 people we encourage you to call or email ahead of time. americancanoe@mail.com or (386) 397-1309. No payments are required ahead of trip for reservations to be valid.

 You come to the shop and we put you on the river at one of our many drop off points depending on the day trip you choose. When you reach the end of your trip you call us on your cell phone and we pick you up and bring you back to the shop. If you do not have a cell phone we will time your trip and meet you at the pick-up location. 

Yes! Feel free to bring your pet, but understand we are not liable for anything that may happen to your four-legged friend on the river. 

 Unfortunately, we were not gifted with the power of foresight, if we had been we probably wouldn't be putting fine folks like you on the river for a living. You can check the weather conditions here, but understand that North Florida weather is about as unpredictable as life itself. There's an old saying in Florida: "If you don't like the current weather conditions, just wait 15 min."

The river levels are always changing but can be checked here. 

 Yes! We can shuttle your gear to one of the Suwannee River Wilderness Trail Campsites. When reserving your trip just let us know you'll need a supply drop.
